Shine Day

Laurier’s Orientation Week culminates each year on Shine Day.  On this day thousands of Laurier students take to the streets of the Kitchener-Waterloo Region to shine anything and everything from cars and shoes to windows and bikes.  New and old Golden Hawks work together to run car washes, barbeques and various other creative fundraisers.  The students’ shining efforts are rewarded by generous donations made by members of the community.  Shine Day serves as the primary fundraiser for the Shinerama campaign, yielding over $80 000 for the Canadian Cystic Fibrosis Foundation each year.  This year’s Shine Day will be taking place on Saturday, September 6, 2008.  Check back at this site throughout the summer to locate a Shine Site near you.
