About the Board of Directors
It is difficult to summarize in one statement, with any accuracy, just what the role of the Board of Directors is. In short, the Board is the government of the Students’ Union mandated to identify and provide for your needs as a student.
The Board accomplishes this objective by overseeing the broad operations of the corporate affairs of the Students’ Union, be it budget documents and statements, capitol purchases, or contract negotiations. Furthermore, as a representative government, the Board serves the students as the voice of all undergraduates to the University Administration and to the greater community of Wilfrid Laurier & Waterloo.
The Board is comprised of 15 popularly elected directors. The President & CEO is present with voice at all meetings, but does not sit as a director. Each member is dedicated to the betterment of the students union and the general student experience. Individual directors each carry with them the responsibility of seeking out student input, representing their interests to the Board, and working with their fellow directors to develop the broad organizational goals and objectives.
You can learn more about the Board here, including individual members, and please feel free to contact any member of the Board if you have an issue or if you’d like to learn more.

Jon Champagne
