What if the only medication that works is not covered?

If alternative medications and treatments that are eligible under the plan are ineffective in treating a situation, special exceptions may be made on a case-by-case basis.

Where do I get my benefit card?

The benefit card is available in a printable format here as well as available for pick at the Union Desk (U Desk) on both campuses.

How do I remit a claim?

For prescription drug claims, present your benefit card to a pharmacist.

Under the newly added “ My Plan My Choice” model, the pharmacy will reimburse your prescriptions using the benefits card, if covered under the plan at 80% for a generic product and 50% for a brand name product.

Under the Direct 2 U model offered through Alliance Pharmacy,  a generic product on the plan will be reimbursed at 100% and a brand name product on the plan will be reimbursed at 80%.  For more information on Direct 2 U, please visit the website at www.studentvip.ca/wlusu under my benefits.

For Extended Health Claims (Including Vision Care):

Complete the Claim for Health Benefits Form and attach original receipts.

Electronic Dental Claim:

Most dental offices can submit your claim to RWAM Insurance Administrators Inc. electronically.  At the time of your visit you must provide the office with the following information.

Name of Insuring Agency (RWAM Insurance Administrators Inc.)

Group #490002

9 digit student ID number

Manual Dental Claim:

Obtain a Standard Dental Claim Form from your dentist’s office. You must complete part 2 and sign the form.

The completed form can be mailed to:

Completed claims may be dropped off at the Union Desk for processing by courier.  Claims  can also be faxed (originals must be retained for one year), scanned and emailed (originals must be retained for one year), or mailed directly to RWAM with a completed claim for.  There is also an online claim form that can be found at www.studentvip.ca/wlusu.

What is Direct2U Prescription Services?

Students are eligible to have their prescriptions delivered to the Union Desk on their campus for easy pick up. For students enrolled in the Students’ Union Health Plan, they benefit from up to 100% coverage on eligible drugs. Students using alternate coverage will still benefit from lower dispensing fees and ingredient costs.

To place an order have your doctor write your phone number on the prescription and have their office fax it directly to 1.877.835.8329.  Alliance Pharmacy will contact you to let you know they have received your prescription and ask you if you would like to choose the generic or brand name product.
