Green Fee

Applicable to Waterloo and Brantford Students

$0.50 per semester for all student

In 1994 the referendum question was posed, "Do you favour an environmental fee at WLU for proactive initiatives, that fee to be $0.50/student per term?" This referendum question won the support of the student body and has become the Green Fee.

The Green Fee goes toward endeavours that will benefit the students either directly or indirectly, yet the major focus is on reducing Wilfrid Laurier University’s impact on the environment. This includes:

• Reducing paper use/waste
• Reducing energy use
• Reducing water use
• Reducing waste output
• Increasing air quality
• Increasing green space on campus and surrounding community
