About the Student Food Bank

Laurier’s first student based and student run food bank aimed at helping students in need to meet their basic dietary and nutritional needs opened in October 2006.  The Student Food Bank features a completely anonymous system in which applicants use the form found directly on this site, e-mail it to the committee and a food hamper containing 2-3 meals will be placed in a locker on campus for the student to pick up.

The Student Food Bank is a member of the Food Bank of Waterloo Region Network and continues to research into dietary needs and trends in order to constantly update its inventory and policies.
For students who are not in need of the service but wish to help with its fundraising efforts look for information and food drives to be held in each semester and more information will be available closer to those dates.
As of September 2008, the Student Food Bank provides both non-perishable items and freezer foods, in order to better serve the needs of Laurier students.
