Frequently Asked Question

QUESTION

How does the Hiring Committee remain fair and objective?

ANSWER

WLUSU hiring practices are governed and regulated by the corporate by-laws.  The system employed is behaviour based, whereby the interviewee is asked to draw upon their past experiences and relate them to the position for which he or she is applying.  Using the STARR method, when answering questions in the interview or on an application, applicants must outline the Situation, Task, Actions and Results of a past, real-life scenario and then Relate that situation to one that might occur in a WLUSU environment.  In addition to the standard WLUSU hiring practices, some committee may require applications to submit creative proposals or perform practical components.
