Charity Auction Brings Back the Classy 1920s
Waterloo, ON, November 19, 2008 – Laurier University Charity Kouncil (L.U.C.K.) is hosting their annual event called the “Charity Auction.” The theme of the event is “A 1920’s Black and White Classy Affair.” The doors open at 7 p.m. at the Turret Nightclub on campus. Tickets cost only $3.00 and will be on sale in the Concourse from Monday, November 10th to Wednesday, November 19th. Everyone is welcome – including those outside the Laurier community and to all students.
The funds raised from this event will be donated to the local YWCA Mary’s Place (Emergency Women & Children’s Shelter). Both a Live and Silent Auction will be taking place involving great items such as Platinum Leaf Tickets, a Hot Air Balloon Ride, World Junior National Hockey Tickets, two WestJet tickets - a two night hotel stay & a three day car rental, and Daddy Mac’s Trip. Throughout the night there will be free appetizers, a cash bar, a jazz band and F’n’M dance performance!
"The annual L.U.C.K. Charity Auction is always a student favourite event filled with fun entertainment, delicious food, and a classy atmostphere. Tonight’s 1920’s Black & White classy affair proves to be a very exciting evening where the students of WLU will help to make a difference in the Kichener-Waterloo community!" - Lawerence Maclin, L.U.C.K Coordinator
