Charity Ball to hold annual Luminera event

WATERLOO, ON, November 19, 2008— WLUSU’s Charity Ball committee will be holding their annual Luminera event on Tuesday, November 25, 2008. The event will take place in the Quad and will run from 7:00pm-9:30pm.

An annual tradition at Laurier, Luminera is one of Charity Ball’s most anticipated events leading up to the ball. The Quad will be aglow with candles purchased by Laurier students and dedicated to whomever they wish. This exciting evening will feature live music, and hot chocolate and baked goods will be available for purchase by donation. Also, the parents of KidsAbility ambassador Philip will speak at the event. Candles are available for purchase the week of November 17-21 and Monday, November 24th in the concourse, as well as at the event itself. Buy one for $2.00 or 3 for $5.00- better yet, get a team together and compete to see which team can buy the most candles! First prize is a pair of lift tickets for Mount Tremblant ski hill. Be sure to stick around until the end of the night for the much-anticipated theme unveiling, and get a taste of what to expect at the Ball in March 2009.

“Luminera is such a unique event that symbolizes hope for every cause. It’s such an inspirational event that really shows the unity of the student body for our charity. I would have to say that this is definitely my favourite Charity Ball event!”, said Charity Ball Coordinator Daliah Hijazi.

Come out and enjoy this stunning display of lights in support of KidsAbility Centre for Child Development. This is sure to be Charity Ball’s most successful Luminera event yet!
