L.U.C.K Hosts 12^th Annual Charity Auction

WATERLOO – The Laurier University Charity Kouncil (better known as L.U.C.K) is proudly hosting their annual charity auction on Wednesday, November 21^st, 2007. Entitled “Anchors Way,” this event will be unfolding at Wilfrid Laurier’s own Turret Nightclub, beginning at 7:00 pm until 10:00 pm. A donation of $3 dollars will we accepted with proceeds going toward the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

L.U.C.K is an active group within the Kitchener-Waterloo community organizing various initiatives that fundraise for a good cause. The charity auction this year takes the form of both a silent and a live auction accompanied by live entertainment and complementary appetizers and refreshments. All proceeds from the event will be a contribution to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, specifically in support of a seven-year-old girl’s dream to visit Disney World. L.U.C.K is striving to make her dream a reality by auctioning off prizes such as wine tours, Toronto Maple Leaf tickets, and even the opportunity to be Dean for the Day, along with various other worthwhile prizes!

"The Make-A-Wish Foundation provides much more than vacations and getaways; they give joy and hope to children and families who desperately need it. A trip to Disney World may seem minor in terms of a wish, but the idea of trading the reality of needles, pain and hospital visits for a week of rides, castles and magic would be a dream come true!" said Brie Crnkovic, this year’s Charity Auction Coordinator for L.U.C.K.

Crnkovic also affirms, “The L.U.C.K. Charity Auction has been a longstanding tradition within the Laurier community and each year it is used to raise money and awareness for a specific charity.” So, come out and support the Make-A-Wish Foundation by bidding on fabulous prizes to make a little girl’s dream come true.
