Learn Strategies to Combat Anxiety
Waterloo, ON – Tuesday, November 18, 2008 and Tuesday, November 25, 2008 at 5:30pm, students are welcome to attend two seminars dealing with anxiety. The first of the two seminars, titled “Understanding Anxiety: What is It?” will be 45-minutes in length and take place in BA210. The second seminar, titled “Anxiety: How to Cope”, will be 1-hour in length and take place in N1057.“Understanding Anxiety: What is It?” will examine various forms and common symptoms of anxiety and briefly introduce strategies to challenge worry thoughts and calm the mind. “Anxiety: How to Cope” will explore strategies to calm an anxious body and mind. Information and handouts will be provided on breathing techniques, relaxation exercises, and worry thought stopping. The goal of this seminar is to help students walk away with strategies to alleviate anxiety and return to their optimal best.
