Roll in on the Red Carpet: Old Hollywood Meets Casino Royale at this year’s Charity Ball

WATERLOO – On Monday, February 4th the Charity Ball Committee will continue ticket sales for the Charity Ball event: Roll on in the Red Carpet. This year the theme for the event is Old Hollywood meets Casino Royale with the glamour of the red carpet. Enjoy a spectacular evening with friends as you sit down for a delicious meal, browse through amazing prizes at the silent auction, dance and enjoy a signature CBall'r martini. Regular tickets for the event are being sold for $45/ticket and High Roller Martini Reception tickets are $65/ticket. The High Roller Martini Reception ticket provides entrance to the VIP martini reception, held 2-hours prior to dinner, where you can indulge in the CBall'r. Buy your tickets soon because prices will increase during the last week of sales (the week after Reading Week). Tickets are available from Feb. 4-8 (10am-3pm) in the Hall of Fame, Feb. 11-14 (10am-3pm) in the Concourse and Feb. 25-27 (10am-3pm) in the Concourse and Science Building.

Charity Ball is an annual formal event that is organized by the committee with all the proceeds from the event being donated to a chosen charity every year in the local community. This year’s charity is HopeSpring Cancer Support Center. This local charity provides a variety of programs and services for people affected by cancer; either as sufferers’, survivors or as family and friends. This is a wonderful charity that offers a range of courses, workshops, seminars, gentle exercise, relaxation therapies, and information nights for people in the community. They provide individual and group support, a free wig boutique, and a resource centre. The Charity Ball committee’s goal this year is to provide this wonderful charity with financial resources in order to keep these worthwhile services running and to reach more people in the community dealing with this disease.

Promotions Executive Daliah Hijazi expresses, “Charity Ball is a great occasion to get dressed up and enjoy an evening out with friends. It's a different environment than many of the other events that take place at Laurier. HopeSpring Cancer Support Centre takes huge steps in providing support to everyone who has trouble dealing with cancer. With a dinner, dance and silent auction, Charity Ball will be an unforgettable evening where Laurier students will come together and show their support for HopeSpring.”
