The Undergraduate Student Health & Dental Plans are mandatory for all full & part-time undergraduate students enrolled in the fall term.
Students may opt out if they have proof of alternate extended health and dental coverage, or may remain enrolled and combine benefits from both plans. The opt out deadline is September 21, 2012 at midnight.

Can I opt out of the Health & Dental Plans?
Yes, students who have proof of alternative coverage may opt out of either or both plans.
How do I opt out?
To opt out, click here. You will need to register or sign into your account to complete the opt out process. You will receive an email confirming the opt out. Please keep a copy of this confirmation for reference. If you do not see a confirmation email
What is the deadline to opt out?
The opt out period for the 2012-2013 Health & Dental Plans is August 7 - September 21, 2012 at midnight.
What benefits are including in the plans?

How much do the Health & Dental Plans cost?
Fees are charge to undergraduate students on all campuses every fall term, providing coverage for one year (September 1-August 31).
Health Plan cost: $106.81
Dental Plan cost: $100.25
Students with alternative coverage may opt out of either plan, or both, with proof of alternative coverage.
Is there someone I can speak to about the Health & Dental Plans?
The U-Desk staff are available to help you with any questions about the Health & Dental Plans. They're available in person, or by phone or email, to assist with question about your coverage, submitting a claim, or opting out.
In Brantford, the U-Desk is located on the 1st floor of the Student Centre in the Students' Union wing.
In Waterloo, the U-Desk is located on the 1st floor of the Fred Nichols Campus Centre (Across from Wilf's).

Do I need to register with the StudentVIP website?
Yes. To opt out, or access full services of the Health & Dental Plans, you will need to register for an account at studentVIP.ca/wlusu. The StudentVIP website allows you to review your benefits, make claims online and opt in a spouse or dependant children (for an additional fee).
What is Direct2U?
Have your prescriptions delivered to the U-Desk for pick-up at your convenience. In most cases, you’ll receive better coverage than you would through a local pharmacist (receive up to 100% coverage on eligible drugs if you are enrolled in the Students’ Union Health Plan). Students using alternate coverage will benefit from lower dispensing fees and ingredient costs.
