Nomination Process

*A secondary nomination signature from a student is required on each nomination form.
Selection Process
Nominations will be considered based upon the quantity of nominations AND quality of the student comments.
Selection Committee
The Committee to determine the successful teacher will be: The Vice President University Affairs, Vice-President Human Resources, The Academic Issues Commissioner, 1 member of the Laurier Student Forum and 2 Laurier Student Senators.
Key Criteria
The recipient will likely embody:
A remarkable teacher will have an enthusiasm for teaching. They will have a gift for engaging and challenging their students on a regular basis. The teacher will be accessible, tolerant and encouraging towards their students, and they will constantly promote the acquisition of knowledge using effective classroom methods.
Award
The winner will receive a plaque to be presented at the Volunteer Appreciation Dinner and Gala in March 2009. The Winner will also be eligible to win the Ontario Undergraduate Student Alliance’s teaching award to be presented in April 2009. Most importantly, the winner will know that their teaching is appreciated and recognized by Laurier students.
