Green Fee: What is it?
Green Fee
The Green Fee is $0.50 which comes from every full time student’s tution per term. This fund goes towards "Greening of the Camus" projects decided by the EcoHawks committee with input from students as well.
The EcoHawks host "Green Fee Student Suggestion Booth" days where students can contribute their ideas or suggestions to what they feel we should be using their money towards.
We provide these booths for you to come out and let us know what environmentall conscious initiatives you think we should implement on Laurier’s Campus.
Current ideas include:
- "Fix the recycling system!!"
- Experimenting with alternative energy such as solar power or wind power
- More hand dryers
- Trays in the Terrace instead of packaging and brown bags
- Retro-fitting buildings with lightbulbs
- Implementing a school-wide paper policy
