EcoHawks Participate in Buy Nothing Day

The EcoHawks participated in this year’s Buy Nothing Day at Laurier!

We had a booth called "A Simple Christmas" which provided ideas for cheap, free, or recycled christmas gifts which are easy on both the wallet and the environment.

Movie Night: An Inconvenient Truth

 Dedicated to raising awarness regarding environmental issues the WLUSU EcoHawks in partnership with the
LSPIRG (Laurier Students’ Public Interest Research Group) are hosting a viewing of Al Gore’s intense and internationally acclaimed documentary: ’An Inconvenient Truth. A Global Warning’.


** This event was a success! I was astounded at how many people showed up! There were easily 150 people there!

Residence Recycling Challenge

Resiences partcipated in a competition to raise awareness about recycling in residence. Prizes were awarded for the top three winning floors. The awards ceremony awarded our home-made trophies out of recycled materials! Thanks for everyone’e enthusiasm and participation!

Sign up for the David Suzuki Nature Challenge: Pick 3 out of 10 ways you can improve your impact on the environment. Learn how you can cater each step to student life and the
Waterloo Area. This was a great turn out! Look for this event again next term!
